It seems that online classes cost almost the same as if I were to go to class in person at a regular college.
How come when you don't get access to all the traditional things like classrooms, lectures and other things it still costs the same?

These degrees are fine if first the applicant has real experience in the field and secondly mostly for title enhancement.
There has to be some real checks and balances on who gets what at least. It may not be extensive but ensure integrity.
In terms of legality, the issuance may be legal but the actual use is not legal based on specific requirements.
It think these are mostly for people that need a legal title not for real employment.
